Why Furnishings From A Cebu Furniture Trader Is Unrivaled

February 14th, 2009 fts2009

Cebu Philippines has been dubbed the “Milan of Asia”, and if you know your geography, you know what it implies. Despite the lack of a major source of material and the difficulty in obtaining them, Cebuanos still come up with globally competitive products many the world over are in admiration of. Why? What is the secret? In talks with many of those in the industry and with those outside of it, they all agree that the number one factor for the continuing stature that the products enjoy is the genius and creativity of the Cebuanos and of the designers in cebu philippines.

The lack of rattan, a major component, has challenged them to come up with other materials that may substitute for rattan or may be combined with it and thus lessen their need for it. With materials like stone, aluminum, wrought iron, wood, coco and sea shells, bamboo, banana bark, abaca, steel, leather, tikog, sea grass, lampakanai and other indigenous materials, Cebuanos come up with the most innovative and exciting designs ever, yet still retaining the beauty of form and function in the resulting products.

The second factor is the skill and artistry of the workers. Cebu has a history of its people’s ingenuity in making do with what they have, given the land they cannot really depend on for food and livelihood. Cebuanos are used to making things work with whatever is on hand for them to work with. And because they are surrounded by beautiful, natural scenery, they can’t help but turn out things of beauty. They are naturally artistic. Capitalizing on masterful Filipino aptitude, the Philippine-made furniture today is a fusion of eastern craftsmanship, natural materials, age-old traditions, clever designs and modern technology.

Current Trends

Every year, since 1988, Cebu International Furniture and Furnishings Exhibition or “Cebu Xcite”, is held to showcase what a Cebu furniture exporter has to offer to the world. The show, dubbed Cebu X, is held the first week of March at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino, Cebu, Philippines in Cebu Philippines. Organized by the Cebu Furniture Industries Foundation, Inc.(CFIF).

It is now the “must-see” show among the many furniture design shows in Asia. The show has long been recognized as the preeminent exhibition of its kind in the Philippines, and through 17 years of design innovation and the occasional revolution, it is an influential barometer of the region’s design direction. Make your reservations now to attend the show at the CFIF website.

Based on the industry’s latest offerings, and on talks with a Cebu furniture manufacturer, Alan Murillo, we can surmise the following design trends in furniture:

* First, the trend to use mixed media as material for furniture. There are reasons for this, one of which is the scarcity of materials that have been used for furniture. Now, manufacturers and designers are using non-traditional materials and traditional craftsmanship mixed with modern technology. The materials may be ethnic but the sensibility is modern. Another reason for this mixing of materials is the new consciousness among the Cebu furniture export manufacturers not to waste nature’s bounty, but to enhance, protect and preserve it, as much as possible. Not only for this generation but for future generations as well.

* The use of material that makes the furniture light and airy. This is what the Europeans call the Asian lifestyle trend, or what some dubbed as the tropical feel, or the urban ethnic. The material may be indigenous- coco shell, sugarcane stalks, abaca, rope, sea grass, -but with the consummate Filipino craftsmanship and artistry married to the state-of-the art machinery, the results are urbane designs, unmistakably contemporary, thoroughly modern.

* The result of all this is what Mr. Murillo calls a “responsible design.” The design with a social conscience. Materials such as coco and bamboo, long used locally in relatively basic applications are now transformed into highly evolved finished pieces that comply with the strictest international standards on the use of non-toxic chemicals and the preservation of the environment. When designing furniture now, they see to it no laws-social, environmental, or otherwise-are being violated.

With Dreamweaver CS4 Anyone Can Be A Web Designer

February 14th, 2009 fts2009

Dreamweaver CS4 has quickly established itself as the leading website creation software available on the market today. There are many organisations as well as individuals that long to have their own website but cannot afford the services of a professional web design company. With Adobe Dreamweaver, nearly anyone can successfully build a web presence. Adobe Dreamweaver is relatively simple to use, pays attention to current web standards, and allows even the less experienced web builder to put together a good looking, functional website.

Just as the use of a graphical interface has changed computing, making it more user-friendly, the use of Adobe Dreamweaver renders people with limited understanding of web construction capable of becoming a Web Designer. It is also an excellent platform for learning how web sites should be put together. For example, when you create a new page, Dreamweaver lets you choose from a series of standard layouts based on CSS (Cascading Style Sheets), the recommended specification for creating web pages. The code produced by Dreamweaver contains useful comments explaining how the page layout works.

Many small organisations have already learned to rely on Adobe Dreamweaver to build and manage their own website, creating and modifying pages and then uploading them via FTP to make them live and available to the public. Those organisations with a more urgent need to establish a web presence may still turn to professional web development companies to get them started and then use Adobe Dreamweaver when changes need to be made, often saving themselves a small fortune.

Another way that companies can save a few bucks is by commissioning web designers to create Dreamweaver templates and then using these templates in-house to build the website themselves. This also has the benefit of allowing organizations to maintain control of their site from the outset.

Although Dreamweaver is simple to use, it is unlikely that the average user can simple load it onto their machine and start using it effectively. Most people will benefit from having some Dreamweaver training. This will show them which are the essential aspects of the program and the process of creating a basic site and making it live. A good Dreamweaver training course will also give users an overview of the many web technologies, the underlying code, which Dreamweaver uses as the users visually create their web pages.

One of the best ways to make a site useful for visitors is making it interactive, allowing users to search for the specific content that they want. By attending an advanced Dreamweaver training course, staff within an organization can learn to add database-driven content to their website using technologies such as ASP, PHP or ColdFusion. And, here again, Dreamweaver does the lion’s share of the work, allowing users to create sophisticated search and results pages using the same simple point-and-click and drag-and-drop techniques used to create basic content.

Fascinating Details Regards Hot Air Ballooning

February 13th, 2009 fts2009

A hot air balloon experience must be one of the most exciting and interesting ways to experience flight. Obviously they can’t go very fast and are incredibly difficult to steer, but the feeling of the wind in your face as you are gazing down at the surrounding scenery is an experience hard to beat.

The Montgolfier siblings who lived in Paris during the 1700s are famed with inventing hot air balloons that could carry passengers (unmanned hot air balloons are popular in Chinese history). The Montgolfiers carried out many experiments which culminated in the first manned flight of a hot air balloon. The passengers were Pilatre de Rozier and Marquis d’Arlandes in 1783. Before this the brothers had sent up an unusual trio of farmyard animals!

Hot air balloons work on the simple principle that hot air is lighter than cold air and it rises. Therefore, as the air inside the balloon is heated up it starts to become warmer than the surrounding air and causes the balloon to rise taking the gondola with it.

What we think of as the balloon is actually called the envelope. Modern day envelopes tend to be made of nylon as it is airtight, strong and lightweight. More importantly, it is also heat resistant. The mouth of the balloon which is the part nearest to the gas burner is made from a fire resistant material such as Nomex. The burner uses propane fuel to propel a jet of flame up into the envelope. Some people ask why the hot air doesn’t escape from the hole at the bottom of the envelope. The simple answer is because hot air is buoyant which means it can’t sink and come out of the bottom of the balloon.

Hot air balloons come in many different sizes depending on what they are to be used for. They normally carry between one to around 24 people. The part that people travel in is called the gondola or more commonly the wicker basket. On some specialist high altitude or very long distance flights a capsule is used. The baskets are normally made from wicker, because it is flexible, lightweight and strong. Wicker is also excellent at absorbing the shock of a bumpy landing!

Hot air balloons are difficult to pilot and are usually flown in the early morning or evening. At these times of the day the air is at its most calm and, therefore, the flight will be more manageable for the pilot.

Hot air ballooning is probably one of the slowest and not always the safest way to fly, but as stated before probably one of the most unforgettable and enjoyable ways to take to the skies. Hot air balloon experiences are certainly never dull and will be remembered forever by those who have given them a go!

Wintry Clothing Tips

February 13th, 2009 fts2009

Cold weather doesn’t have to mean putting exercising on ice. Here are some tips to exercise safely — even when it’s 20 below.

Winter can frustrate the most motivated exercisers. And if you’re not so motivated, it’s all too easy to pack your fitness gear away with your summer clothes. But keeping up your exercise routine in cold weather can be rewarding.

For one thing, outdoor exercising is a sure cure for cabin fever and the winter blues. And it increases energy, which can be sapped by gloomy weather.

Fitness also bolsters your immune system —studies show that moderate exercisers get 20 to 30 percent fewer colds than nonexercisers do. If you’re not looking forward to another winter of pounding endless miles on the power walking the malls, the good news is that you don’t have to. With the right clothing tips and a little planning, cold-weather exercise can be safe, effective and, yes, fun.

Check with your doctor. Experts say that almost everyone can exercise safely in the cold, including people with asthma and heart problems. If you have health concerns, get your doctor’s OK.

Layer it on. One of the biggest mistakes cold-weather exercisers make is dressing too warmly. Exercise generates a considerable amount of heat — enough to make you feel like it’s 30 degrees warmer than it really is. At the same time, once you start to tire and the sweat dries, you can get chilled. The solution? Dress in layers that you can remove as soon as you start to sweat and then put back on as needed. Start with a thin layer of synthetic material such as polypropylene, which draws sweat away from your body. Avoid cotton, which stays wet next to your skin. Next, try fleece for insulation. Top this with a waterproof, breathable outer layer. A heavy down jacket or vest will cause most people to overheat. If you’re naturally lean, though, you’ll need more insulation than someone who is heavier. If it’s very cold (about 0 F or -17.8 C) or you have asthma, wear a face mask or a scarf over your mouth.

Protect your extremities. When it’s cold, blood is shunted to your body’s core, leaving your hands and feet vulnerable to frostbite. Try wearing a thin pair of gloves under a pair of heavier gloves or mittens lined with wool or fleece. You might want to buy fitness shoes a half-size larger than usual to allow for thick thermal socks or an extra pair of regular socks.

And don’t forget a hat or headband — 30 to 40 percent of your body heat is lost through your head.

Choose appropriate gear. If it’s dark, wear reflective clothing. To stay steady on your feet, choose footwear with enough traction to prevent falls. Wear a helmet for skiing, snowboarding and snowmobiling.

Remember sunscreen. It’s as easy to get sunburned in winter as in summer — even more so if you’re exercising in the snow or at high altitudes. Wear a sunscreen that blocks both UVA and UVB rays and has an SPF of at least 15 or higher. Use a lip balm that contains sunscreen, and protect your eyes from snow and ice glare with dark glasses or goggles.

Head into the wind. You’ll be less likely to get chilled on the way back if you end your workout — when you may be sweaty — with the wind at your back.

Drink plenty of fluids. Drink water or sports drinks before, during and after your workout — even if you’re not thirsty. You can become just as dehydrated in the cold as in the heat from sweating, breathing and increased urine production.

Pay attention to wind chill. The wind can penetrate your clothes and remove the insulating layer of warm air that surrounds your body. Fast motion — such as skiing, running, cycling or skating — also creates wind chill because it increases air movement past your body. When the temperature is 10 F (-12.2 C) and the air is calm, skiing at 20 miles an hour creates a wind chill of minus 9 (-22.8 C). If the temperature dips well below zero (-17.8 C), choose an indoor activity instead.

Stay motivated. When it’s cold outdoors, there’s no need to hit the couch. With a little knowledge and fortitude, you can meet the challenges — and reap the rewards — of winter exercise. For many people, the solitude and quiet alone are reason enough to brave the elements.

Though Exercise Can Increase Mood, Its Health Benefits Have Been Oversold.

February 12th, 2009 fts2009

Moderate exercise can reduce the possibility of diabetes in individuals at risk. Exercise may reduce the risk of heart disease and breast and colon cancers.

While the evidence is mixed, exercise may also provide benefits for individuals with osteoporosis.

Exercise alone will not lead to sustained weight loss or reduce blood pressure or cholesterol.

Exercise has forever been boasted as the panacea for everything that ails you. For better health, just walk for 20 or 30 minutes a day, boosters say, and you don’t even have to do it all at once. Count a few minutes here and a few there, and just add them up. Or wear a pedometer and keep track of your steps. However you manage it, you will lose weight, get your blood pressure under control and decrease your risk of osteoporosis.

If only it were just that simple. While physical activity has undeniable benefits, many, if not most, of its benefits have been oversold. Sure, it can be entertaining. It can increase your energy. And it may increase your mood. But before you turn to a fitness program as the solution to your particular health or weight concern, ponder what science has proved.

Moderate exercise, such as walking, can decrease the risk of diabetes in obese and sedentary people whose blood sugar is starting to rise. That outcome was shown in a large federal government research in which participants were randomly assigned either to an exercise and diet program, to take a diabetes drug or to serve as controls. Despite trying hard, those who dieted and worked out lost very little weight. But they did manage to maintain a regular walking program, and fewer of them went on to develop diabetes.

Physical activity also may reduce the risk of heart disease, though the evidence is surprisingly mixed. There seems to be a threshold effect: Most of the heart protection appears to be realized by people who go from being sedentary to being moderately active, usually by walking regularly. More intense exercise has been shown to give only slightly increased benefits. Yet the information from several large studies have not always been clear, because those who exercise seem to be very different from those who do not.

Active people are much less likely to smoke; they’re thinner and they eat differently than their sedentary peers. They also tend to be more educated, and education is one of the strongest predictors of good health in general and a longer life. As a result, it is impossible to know with confidence whether physical activity prevents heart disease or whether individuals who are less likely to get heart disease are also more likely to be exercising.

Scientists have much the same problem evaluating exercise and cancer. The same sort of studies that were done for heart disease find that people who were physically active had lower rates of colon and breast cancer. But whether that result is cause or effect is not well established.

Physical activity is often said to stave off osteoporosis. Yet even weight-bearing activities like walking, running or lifting weights has not been shown to have that effect. Still, in rigorous studies in which elderly people were randomly assigned either to exercise or maintain their normal routine, the exercisers were less likely to fall, possibly because they got stronger or developed better balance. Since falls can lead to fractures in people with osteoporosis, exercise may prevent broken bones but only indirectly.

And what about shedding pounds? Lifting weights builds muscles but will not make you burn more calories. The muscle you gain is minuscule compared with the total amount of skeletal muscle in the body. And muscle has a very low metabolic rate when it’s at rest. (You can’t flex your biceps all the time.)

Jack Wilmore, a physical activity physiologist at Texas A & M University, figured out that the usual amount of muscle that men gained after a serious 12-week weight-lifting program was 2 kilograms, or 4.4 pounds. That additional muscle would increase the metabolic rate by only 24 calories a day.

Physical activity by itself, in the absence of weight loss, has not been shown to reduce blood pressure. Nor does it make much difference in cholesterol levels. A decrease in weight can decrease blood pressure and cholesterol levels, but if you want to lose weight, you have to diet as well as exercise. Exercise alone has not been shown to bring sustained weight loss.Just ask Steven Blair, a physical activity researcher at the University of South Carolina. He runs every day and even runs marathons. But, he adds, I was short, fat and bald when I started running, and I’m still short, fat and bald. Weight control is difficult for me. I fight the losing battle.

The difficulty, Dr. Blair says, is that it’s much easier to eat 1,000 calories than to burn off 1,000 calories with exercise. As he relates, An old football coach used to say, ‘I have all my assistants running five miles a day, but they eat 10 miles a day.’

There can be moments you really should investigate the quality of an individual, especially if you need to trust said person with your well being (such as a lawyer). Using Bookmarks In Adobe Acrobat PDF Files

February 12th, 2009 fts2009

PDFs are documents whose original format and layout has been preserved, allowing users to view the document as it was originally formatted without the need to own the program in which it was created. All you need is the freely available Acrobat Reader and you can open the document and browse through it pretty much as its creator intended.

Almost everyone agrees that Adobe Acrobat PDF s are a great thing but they can sometimes be rather difficult and tedious to navigate. That’s where bookmarks come in handy: they are clickable headings which link to specific parts of the PDF document and enable you to get around a lot faster than scrolling or moving one page at a time.

When you distribute PDFs that contain important information about your products or services, you want to make sure that your audience can get to key facts as quickly as possible. Adding bookmarks to your PDF files can make them more useful and attractive to potential clients.

The bookmarks panel is one of the navigation panels normally displayed on the left of the Acrobat Reader screen. To show bookmarks, click on the bookmark icon or choose View – Navigation Panels – Bookmarks. Click on a bookmark to move to the page that it links to.

If the PDF that you are distributing to your audience is one that you want them to spend some time reading and digesting, adding bookmarks will improve the chances of this happening. However, bookmarks cannot be created with Acrobat Reader: you will need either Acrobat Professional or Acrobat Standard, the commercial versions of Acrobat. But then you will also need one of these two bits of software to create your PDF in the first place.

Once you have created the PDF, open it with Acrobat Standard or Professional and open the Bookmarks panel. Next, navigate to the first page that you want your audience to be able to find easily, choose New Bookmark from the Options menu in the top right of the Bookmarks panel and enter a name for the bookmark. Repeat this procedure to create as many bookmarks as you think useful.

If this all sounds a bit tedious then let’s look at a few ways of speeding things up. Firstly, instead of typing a name for a bookmark, you can use the selection tool (located next to the hand tool on the toolbar) to highlight some text on the page then, when you choose New Bookmark, the highlighted text will be used as the name of the bookmark. Also, you can use the keyboard shortcut for New Bookmark: Control-B.

Better still, why not have your bookmarks automatically generated for you! The software utility AutoBookmark (http://www.evermap.com/autobookmark.asp) will generate bookmarks automatically based on the textual attributes of your PDF file such as font size and indentation.

Then there is Adobe’s own PDFMaker, a utility for Microsoft Office 97, 2002 and 2003 which is automatically installed along with Acrobat Standard or Professional producing an extra menu in Office programs called “Adobe PDF” and an “Adobe PDFMaker” toolbar.

When you create a PDF using the PDFMaker utility, any text formatted with Word’s heading styles (“Heading 1″, “Heading 2″, etc.) will automatically be converted to PDF bookmarks as will entries in indexes and tables of content. Similarly, if you PDF an Excel workbook using PDFMaker, bookmarks to each worksheet will automatically be created. In PowerPoint, bookmarks to each slide in your presentation will be generated for you.

Some DTP packages will also automatically generate PDF bookmarks in a similar way to Microsoft Word (based on styles, indexes and tables of content), namely InDesign, QuarkXPress and Serif PagePlus. These three software applications have the added benefit that you don’t actually need to buy Acrobat Standard or Professional to create your PDF files, since this facility is built-in to each of these great programs.

It is also worth mentioning that bookmarks can do more than just link to a particular page within the PDF document. Firstly, by default, they actually link to a view rather than a page. Thus, for example, if a page in your document contains a map, you can zoom in on the map till it fills the screen and then create a bookmark. When your users click this bookmark, they will be taken to the exact zoom level that was current when the bookmark was created.

In addition, bookmarks can be made to perform other tasks, such as linking to a web URL or opening a document (in any format) on an intranet. To change what a bookmark will do, having created it, right-click the bookmark and choose Properties, then click on the Actions tab. Highlight the default action (“Go to a page in this document”) and click Delete. Choose an alternative action from the drop-down menu labelled “Select Action” and click the Add button.

Finally, having spent some time preparing bookmarks to make life easier for your audience, wouldn’t it be a shame if they don’t actually see them because their bookmarks panel is not open! Luckily, Adobe have thought of this.

Before distributing your PDF file, choose Properties from the File menu and click on the “Initial View” tab. Next, from the “Navigation Panels” drop-down, choose “Bookmarks Panel and Page”. This will ensure that, when the user opens your document, their bookmarks panel will also open.

Discount Auto Insurance – Which Automobiles Are Cheaper To Insurance

February 9th, 2009 fts2009

If you can’t stop the rush you get from speed and buy a smaller, sportier type of vehicle that can chew up the highway, you most likely won’t be able to locate discount auto insurance. Research by insurance companies tell that smaller car are more likely to be in an accident because the owners of sporty model cars drive their vehicles in ways that make them more vulnerable to accidents. Another reason is that younger drivers who take more risks while driving typically buy these types of car because they are not as costly.

Each year, there are stats examined by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety relating to the insurance losses associated with the most popular vehicles. Since insurers use these same factors to set premiums, knowing how much the insurance for a automobile will cost before you but it may save you from making a costly mistake. In 2008, the Institute rated the Scion tC, the Hyundai Tiburon,
the Mitsubishi Lancer and the Subaru Impreza WRX among the top 5 most costly cars to insure.

Surprisingly, the car that leads the way on the Institute’s list, is the Cadillac Escalade, it is a luxury SUV commonly owned by a more affluent and older driver. So what causes this automobile to be so costly to get insurance for? Car thieves love the Cadillac Escalade. The truck has become a cult status because of its relationship with super stars, making it one of the most desirable vehicles among thieves, this causes the comprehensive coverage for this SUV to costs six times more than the national average.

Of course, if you want to know about the most costly automobile to get insurance coverage for, then you will normally get around to asking about the least costly to insure. If you are trying to minimize your insurance cost, look for the more recent versions of what is known as a “family car.” Cars that fall into this list are usually mid-size SUV’s, minivans and four door cars. The individuals who usually purchase these “family cars” have a strong reputation for cherishing safety. These automobiles are less likely to be used as your commuting vehicle, therefore, avoid the risk associated with rush hour traffic. Some of the cheapest vehicles to insure include the Subaru Outback, the Buick Rendezvous, the Honda Pilot, and the Chrysler Town & Country.

The Ford Taurus, a med-sized four door, was on top of this list. Insurance companies love Taurus owners because they prize safety above all other things. Cars like the Taurus are parked carefully away in garages when not driven, also minimizing their risk of theft. Additionally, auto thieves usually don’t try to discover these kinds of vehicles, which in turn raises their value to insurance companies.

Before you go out and buy your next car, consider the following tips:

* When getting free insurance quotes ask your insurance company if any of the vehicles you are considering have higher prices then the average car.
* Ask if any of the the vehicles you are considering cost more to repair or a high chance of being stolen.
* More pricey cars commonly come with a higher insurance cost so you may want to consider avoiding these.
* Safety saves you cash. Look at results from crash tests, the likelihood of rollovers, if any recalls are in place and consumer complaints.

Fly To Calahonda On The Spanish Costa Del Sol As It Offers Loads Of Attractions On Offer To Holiday Makers

February 9th, 2009 fts2009

Calahonda

If you wish to rent a holiday apartment or villa you could do far worse than rent one in Calahonda on the Costa Del Sol, Spain. The resort nestles neatly between Fueringerola and Marbella.

The modern urbanisation of Calahonda flows from the coast to the undulating hills 300 metres above sea level. The height allows unrivalled panoramic views of the surrounding countryside running down to the sea and along the coast to Gibraltar and even Africa.

There is plenty to offer the visitor to this part of Spain. We highly recommend staying at the luxurious Las Palmeras de Calahonda, an excellent choice if you are looking at apartments in Calahonda as they are a low rise apartment complex ,which certainly has the wow factor. Las Palmeras perches neatly high on the hillside, on the road known as Calle Don Jose de Orbaneja, so called after one of the founders of Calahonda way back in the 1960’s.

The urbanisation of Calahonda emerged following two estates being joined, previously owned by the Van Dulken brothers. The two estates formed an impressive total of 280 hectares.
Merging with the many old buildings are selections of commercial centres to choose from including Centro Commercial Calahonda near Los Jarales campsite and El Zoco offering a wide choice of supermarkets, tourist shops, banks… in fact everything you need to survive without having to travel anywhere else.

Calahonda has a fort house reached by Calle Conde de Jordana. The fort is now known as El Campanario (first turn on the right towards Rattan Tom’s Furniture at the end of Centro Commercial Calahonda). It has previously been a monastery, a local police-station, prison, restaurant and nightclub and the main building of a major farm. It is claimed that it has even been a brothel in its past.

El Campanario dates back to the end of the 15th century. It is said that the building that now houses the church was built back in 1575. The rest of the horse-shoe-shaped building was built a few hundred years later. The fort house had and still has very thick walls and small openings for the use of defenders through which arrows were shot.

There is lots to do and see in the area for entertaining the whole family. For example enjoy spending time at one of the local water parks at Fuengirola or Torremolinos. Enjoy the rides at Tivoli World theme park in Benalmadena, Fuengirola zoo or have an adventure at Selwo Wildlife Park near Marbella.

If you are into golf then Spain has the second highest density of golf courses in the whole of Europe and the Costa Del is the Spanish region’s capital, Calahonda is in a prime location. The region became popular for golf back in the 1980’s and the 80’s and 90’s saw the development of 17 new courses added to the portfolio of 30 existing courses.

For a gentle day out stroll around neary by Marbella or the scenic port of Puerto Banus and mix with the rich and famous and dream of owning one of the large boats, shop at the exclusive boutiques, sit at the pavement cafés and watch the world go by.

So if you want to stay a while in Calahonda for you holiday rent a holiday apartment at Las Pamleras de Calahonda as one of the many excellent options of Calahonda apartments available to offer.

Casares On The Costa Del Sol Offers Many Attractions On Offer To Holiday Makers

February 8th, 2009 fts2009

Casares

What with the current world financial climate consumers are looking for a good summer holiday at affordable prices. Being only two and a half hours away from the United Kingdom, Spain has the edge. We recommend holidaying in Andalucia as an attractive region, and in particular in the area known as the Costa del Sol.

The Costa Del Sol also known by many as the Costa Del Golf due to the abundance of golf courses which means lots of green spaces in the region. The Costa Del Sol is some 154 km long and stretches from 54 km to the east of Malaga to the Cadiz province in the west. Weather wise the area has an average of 11-12 hours of sunshine in the summer with the average temperature being 31-33 degrees centigrade with little or no rainfall.

For a choice of apartments in Casares, we can recommend holidaying at Las Palmeras de Calahonda, which is a newly built apartment complex just 25 minutes from Malaga International Airport with Gibraltar International Airport being only one hour away, even less if you take the toll road! Calahonda is set against a picturesque backdrop of mountains, pretty undulating hills and scenic valleys which meet the jewelled Mediterranean Sea.

The complex is designed neatly as small communities and at the heart of which each has its swimming pool. Additionally most also have children’s pools. The apartments have 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. And sleep 4 to 6 persons.

The complex is just 1 minute by car from the sea for those taking the easy way or a gentle 10 minute stroll. Calahonda On The Costa Del Sol Provides Loads Of Attractions On Offer To Tourists

February 7th, 2009 fts2009

Calahonda

What with the current world financial climate in turmoil, consumers are looking for a good holiday at affordable prices. Being only two and a half hours away from the United Kingdom, Spain has the edge for tourists. We recommend holidaying in Andalucia as an attractive region, and in particular in the area known as the Costa del Sol.

The Costa Del Sol also known as the Costa Del Golf due to the abundance of golf courses which means lots of green spaces. The Costa Del Sol is some 154 km long and stretches from 54 km to the east of Malaga to the Cadiz province in the west. Weather wise the area has an average of 11-12 hours of sunshine in the summer with the average temperature being 31-33 degrees centigrade with little or no rainfall to be expected.

For a choice of apartments in Calahonda, we can recommend holidaying at Las Palmeras de Calahonda a newly built apartment complex laying just 25 minutes from Malaga International Airport with Gibraltar International Airport being only one hour away, even less if you take the fast toll road! Calahonda is set against a backdrop of mountains, undulating hills and valleys which meet the jewelled Mediterranean Sea.

If you do not wish to drive to the apartment, a taxi from Malaga International Airport will only cost approximately 50 Euros each way.

To aid holidaymakers and residents get around the resort with ease, there is a land train which runs from just below the complex into Calahonda itself. The children will love it and it’s also great for adults who do not wish to drink and drive!

Las Palmeras de Calahonda is designed neatly into small communities each community having access to a swimming pool. Additionally, there are also childrens’ pools available for use. The apartments have 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and sleep 4 to 6 persons in each. All apartments also have large terraces and some even have under floor heating in the main bedroom ready for the winter months.

Situated near to Las Palmeras de Calahonda on Calle Don Jose de Orbaneja are the local amenities including a supermarket, bars and a couple of good restaurants and children’s playground to keep the little ones entertained. At the bottom of the hill you will find a street of bars and restaurants which are truly international, ranging from English Fish and Chips, to Chinese and typical Spanish. Calahonda has indeed a lot to offer everyone who visits the area.

Calahonda has its own Marina to explore- Cabopino, situated just 5 minutes drive along the coast road. Cabopino is undoubtedly the Coast’s best kept secret to many visitors and has a host of fine bars & restaurants as well as a really superb sandy beach to relax on and absorb the rays. For other beaches visit the nearby beach at La Cala, Marbella and the stretch around Puerto Banus.

So if you think Calahonda fits your perfect holiday requirements why not choose from one of the many apartments in Calahonda and stay at the luxurious Las Palmeras de Calahonda, on the Costa del Sol for an enjoyable break.

Top Five New Sites Designed To Make Your Life Easier In The Coming Year

February 7th, 2009 fts2009

The world keeps getting more complicated, but fortunately there are some companies out there trying to make life easier for us all.

Following are five new websites you might want to check out in 2009.

Number one on the list is http://www.matchalot.com. This dating site still needs to develop a larger membership base, but once they do this is one online dating and friend finder site to watch out for. Matchalot offers numerous super cool tool which make it easier than ever to make freinds online or that somebody special, to include a mouse-over profile system, a one-click friend request system, and most of all 100 images per page. Overall two thumbs up for this hot little property designed to bring us all a little bit closer.

Next on the list is a another cool site called http://www.weseed.com. WeSeed is a clever little startup that hopes to take the mystery out of the stock market, while at the same time offering the kind of tools you would find on a typical finance site. The great thing is that WeSeed is totally focused on helping the little guy find investments that relate to products they already know.

Third on the list is a site which goes by the name of http://www.meetingwave.com. Here is a model which offers an interesting new twist on the MeetUp concept. Instead of organizing group events, however, the point here is to specify exactly who you’d like to meet, throw out an an invite, and accept or reject requests based on your own preferences. For example, let’s imagine you’ve got the next greatest idea for sliced white bread, and you want to find someone that can help you develop it. Just send out an invite for lunch using this tool and then aspiring developers can take you up on your offer. It truly has never been easier to use the Internet to organize an offline meeting.

Number four on our list is a company with a funny name but a great solution. http://www.wuala.com bills itself as a social online storage application, giving members the ability to share their stored files with friends and family. With features such as built-in encryption, the ability to divide files into private and public, 1GB of free storage, and P2P sharing capabilities, it is difficult to go wrong with this very cool app. The company also recently announced the release of a new Web API, which lets third-party developers create new applications.

And last but certainly not least, you’ll certainly want to check out http://www.daremycompany.com. This is a simple online tool that lets companies hunt for other companies for different sports and other challenges. When you sign-up for DareMyCompany, you can register your company or register with an existing company although, unfortunately, there’s only a handful of existing member companies at the moment. Much like my favorite new dating site, however, I am pretty confident that this website will grow legs as more people become aware of it and sign up to join. After all, a site like DareMyCompany is only as good as the companies that use it, and its success or failure will depend on how many companies actually create accounts and use them.

So, there you have it. My list of five super cool, new sites for the year ahead. Go check them out, sign up and see what other new toys 2009 beings us all.

Can It Be Possible That Everyday Chemical Cleaning Products Can Be Causing Headaches And Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura Among The People Using Them

February 6th, 2009 fts2009

Can cleaning your house give you a headache, and possibly be the cause of your ITP and low platelet count?

Or to phrase it differently, what does house cleaning and Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura share?

Well, I’m quite sure that the first idea that one probably thinks of is that house cleaning is enough to give everybody a migraine and get their blood boiling. Don’t we all just hate house cleaning? Just the sheer idea of cleaning anything will send some people to the psych ward, but it possibly could be the cause of ITP? What a thought!

Imagine a whole 8 hours of cleaning. We begin inside the bathroom, we break out the Lysol and Tilex. That should do it. Oh forgot the ammonia just for increased disinfection. Then move on to the kitchen…. bleach wipes, oven cleaner, Cascade powder. Then some grout cleaner. The house is cleaner already. sliding over to the living room, the carpets need to be steamed with that delicious smelling chemical and the windows washed. Windex and carpet cleaning liquid should do the trick. Oh that’s right, go back and polish the furniture and woodwork. Where’s that Pledge? Boy what a cleaning machine you are!

Wow! Doesn’t your house look great? Now for your much deserved break. Oh God, you have a terrible migraine flaring up. And you are feeling so tired. You’re just plain dead tired.

No wonder you procrastinate when it comes to cleaning your home. Every time you clean you wear yourself to the core and find yourself reaching for the Tylenol for that terrible migraine. Did it ever occur to you that cleaning your house should be an easy chore? It’s not very backbreaking work. Ok, I’ll give you the fact that you’ve been moving all day but surely you shouldn’t feel like crawling in a hole for the next few days to recover.

Here’s a notion, it’s not the effort of cleaning that’s got you down, it’s the cleaning products that you are using. It’s amazing that we spend so much time to make our homes a safer more sanitary place in which to live, but never ponder the fact that most everyday chemical products we use are far more harmful to us than a few germs and dirt. Imagine over the long term just what these harsh chemicals might be causing perhaps the destruction of our immune system? The breakdown of our body’s defenses causing it to attack itself. Consider that all these chemical products just might be causing your ITP and low platelet count.

Did you know that almost all of the every day consumer products that we use, are filled with toxic chemicals far more dangerous than stated on the labels? And that because of labeling laws the manufacturer doesn’t even have to state to you of half of what’s in there. Also that only 20% of all the products that we so willing use have actually been tested for dangers. We are being fooled by big corporations without proper protection from the government.
